Amazing Race Family Style

Posted by Ulysses @ 12:21 pm

The Amazing Race: Family Edition starts tonight. This madman actually enjoys The Amazing Race, because I like watching everyone stress out in tense conditions. But is this really a good idea for a family show? Most of the families are still teams of adults, and only a few teams have kids. This could get ugly. The first time I see a parent yell at a kid over a stupid game, I’m done. Better yet, the first time I see a kid cry in the midst of a task…I’m out.

Hoge-Ka-Boom

Posted by Ulysses @ 2:14 am

What is Gary HogeKaBoom thinking? Tonight on Survivor: Guatemala, Gary Hogeboom was asked directly if he was an NFL quarterback. The last thing he should have done was lie about it, but that’s exactly what he did.

Gary, your whole tribe can see that you are contributing…they’re not going to oust you this early just for being a former NFL QB. Heck, I would do everything in my power to take you to the final two with me…even a raving madman has a good shot against a retired NFL player. But now, they will find out you lied about it, and you will going HogeByeBye.

Going Tribal

Posted by Ulysses @ 10:02 pm

Bruce ParryWe are officially extending an invitation to Bruce Parry to be an honorary madman. If you haven’t seen Going Tribal on Discovery Channel, you need to go set your Tivo right now. This dude travels to remote tribes and pretty much becomes a part of them. He will do anything they do … well almost anything if you’ve seen the cannibal episode. Bruce Parry, you are a madman, and you can hang with our tribe any time you like.

Survivor Strikes Back

Posted by Ulysses @ 12:14 pm

Episode II of Survivor: Guatemala is on tonight. Bobby John and Steph were brought back in another Survivor feel good moment. This is another move to make the fans happy, much like the million dollars that were given to Rupert.

If you’re not familiar with the back story, Bobby John and Steph were the lone survivors as their tribe was decimated in Palau. Steph stood little chance being the only person from her tribe to merge with a fully intact tribe. Bobby John was technically never voted out, although not being able to beat a girl in making fire is worse than being voted out.

We’ll forgive the producers for this feel good move. Even Raving Madmen appreciate some generosity at times. Besides, the most sickening thing about this season is the Survivors Strike Back pseudo-blog. First of all, quit whining that Bobby John and Steph got another shot, James! They made the most of the shot they had, and it has given them another one. Give me the opinions of some former winners and other great players — I’ll take former winners Ethan and Jenna, as well as Rob, who obviously knows the game. As for the rest of them…..YAWN.
