Bush to help Boobs

Posted by Dudley @ 4:13 pm

In a “KitKat- Give me a Break” move to close out 2005, the Bush administration has graciously decided to help Anna Nicole Smith in her Supreme Court battle to win back her dead husband’s millions.  At least they have finally decided to spend their time focussing on important things.  Not much else going on in the world.  Plus, this is going to be a slam dunk win for the administration, just like the finding of WMD’s.  It’s so obvious Anna was in love with her dearly departed husband.  Why else would a 26 year old stripper marry a 89 year old millionaire.

The Wedding Crashers and The Pacifier get the Golden Snub

Golden Globes
The Golden Globe nominations were released yesterday and once again America was left out of the vote. I don’t think a single movie in the top 20 grossing films of 2005 received a single nomination. Granted, The Chronicles of Narnia will most likely break the top 20, but it was only nominated for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. Meanwhile, Brokeback Mountain received seven nominations. Now, I have no problem with this movie being made and celebrating a person’s right to choose who to love. I just believe that most Americans will celebrate their right of choice by not going to see it. The industry continues to complain about the fact that their profits are down and yet they continue to be out of touch with what the public wants. Listen Hollywood, you and I may not agree with it, but The Longest Yard was in the top 10 movies this year and Are We There Yet? was in the top 20. Arthouse films that bettered society they were not, but people flocked like lemmings to their own cultural and mental suicide and gave you a ton of money in the process. You can tell us that Brokeback Mountain is a great movie and we should go see it by voting it best picture, but I won’t simply on the fact that I’m not excited about seeing two men kiss, let alone see the rest of what may happen. If I wanted to see two leading men act gay I would have watched Dukes of Hazzard.

Go Lost and Entourage!!

Reality Finality

Danni BoatwrightSurvivor: Guatemala and The Amazing Race: Family Edition both closed out this week.

Danni Boatwright won amongst a far too likable cast in Survivor. Jeff Probst called Judd Sargeant the villain in this season, but c’mon. All he did was speak his mind, and rave like a madman a bit. Since when does that make one a villain. And don’t tell us that Stephenie LaGrossa was a villian. She was in charge, but she wasn’t a villian. Get us some people we can truly love to hate…that’s when the show gets interesting. Bring back Jonny Rotten!

Linz family from Amazing RaceSpeaking of those we love to hate…how did the Weaver family end up being the second most popular family for the last three episodes of The Amazing Race. America…were you actually watching the show? Congrats to the Linz family. This is the way it sould be. Have a team we dislike in it all the way to the end, but watch the likeable team win it all.

Al Sharpton to possibly star in remake of Small Wonder

Posted by Dudley @ 1:44 pm

Yes, I am finally posting because I could stay silent no longer.
Sharp gets ready for his big chance
Al Sharpton is working on a sitcom pilot. The ultimate Raving Madman could be in our homes on a weekly basis. Are you kidding me? Please, please, networks, I beg of you to pick this up. This show alone could offer mocking material for a lifetime. I have had a secret hope that Rev. Al would turn up on Celebrity Fit Club or even make a guest appearance on a Fresh Prince of Bel Air reunion show as a grown-up Carlton, but this would be fantastic.

I thought I might offer a few potential titles for this new hit.
Saved By The Hair
That’s So Sharpton
Fantasy Island- One Man’s Dream of Being President
Everybody Loves Activist Al
Sharpton in Charge
Doogie Howser (Just a favorite of mine)

Ol’ Sharpy is quoted as saying, ”I don’t know if I am a good actor or not, but I will be playing myself and I have been practicing that for 51 years.” You be you Al, that’s all we’re asking for.

NBC Gets It (Half Right)

Posted by Ulysses @ 2:19 pm

Jey Leno on iTunesSo NBC should get some props for being the second major network to make their shows available on iTunes. Unfortunately for them, we don’t do that around here.

Who is going to spend $1.99 for a five minute clip of the Tonight Show, when the same money gets an entire episode of the top rated shows Lost and Desperate Housewives? C’mon NBC…get this figured out.

Dudley

It was no mistake that this site is called RavingMadmEn, and not RavingMadmAn. There are more than one of us around here, even though I’ve been the only one posting so far. Dudley at RavingMadmen.comDudley has been with us from the start…he’s the one on the right.

He spent about 3 months trying to figure out what name he wanted to go by, and then another 3 months to figure out a password. He is all set now…let’s hope he doesn’t take three months to finally rave about something. He truly is a madman and he has an alarming amount of free time, so when he does rave, I expect it will be worth the wait.
